Irish Drop Season Opener

It was a great night for high school football as the Irish travelled to Whitehall to take on the Rams in the 2010 season opener.  Despite a couple of sparks in the Irish program however, the Rams proved too much for the Irish compiling four first half touchdowns, then running the opening kickoff of the second half back for a 95 yard touchdown to break the back of the Irish.

Despite the loss, Coach Hensley said that he was proud of the way the boys played. 

The Irish will have to work hard this week in practice as they prepare to play host Saturday night to Fairfield Christian Academy (1-0).  Fairfield Christian started their season big with a lopsided 52-18 trouncing of another Mid-State League Cardinal team, the Lakers of Millersport.
